TERENA General Assembly OTHER EVENTS Euro6IX/6NET Workshop
The 6NET and Euro6IX projects are organising a joint workshop co-located with the TERENA Networking Conference and running parallel to the Conference sessions on Wednesday 5 June. This will be an open event that anyone may attend. Delegates at the TERENA Networking Conference 2002 need not register separately for the event. Participants attending the workshop only should register in advance and make reservations for accommodation at: http://www.terena.nl/tnc2002/6workshop.html Information about the accommodation available for workshop participants is available at: 6accommodation.html There is a fee of EUR 30 for participants that are attending the workshop only. This fee covers your refreshments breaks, lunch and transport to and from the hotels offered on the workshop accommodation page and the University Concert Hall. TNC 2002 participants do not pay this fee as these items are included in their conference registration fee. Participants registered for the Euro6IX/ 6NET Workshop may purchase tickets for the TNC 2002 Gala Evening at the conference registration desk for EUR 60 per person. The Gala Evening is on Wednesay, 5 June from 20:00 - 23:00 and bus times will be posted in the hotels. 6NET and Euro6IX are two very large projects in the Information Society Technologies programme of the European Union. 6NET is deploying a native IPv6 network at Gigabit speeds, whilst Euro6IX is focusing on provision of IPv6 Internet Exchanges. Both projects are also developing advanced services and applications that will run on this infrastructure. The workshop will provide a general introduction to IPv6 and an overview of the 6NET and Euro6IX projects. It will discuss deployment and transitional issues, and the current state of the technology. In addition, it will consider how European research and industry can play a leading role in developing these next generation networks. 6NET and Euro6IX will publish the programme for the workshop nearer to the date of the event. CISCO EMEA HITECH 2002 WORKSHOP
Everyone is invited to attend the Cisco EMEA HiTech 2002 Workshop free of charge, but everyone, including delegates of the TERENA Networking Conference 2002 must register on-line for the event separately at Cisco's workshop web pages at: http://hightech.study-tour.com/limerick/ Accommodation bookings made by TNC 2002 participants may be extended to include the Cisco event.
